Stuart visits rising restaurant hotspot UMA, and finds himself on a journey through Peruvian cuisine.
- The word UMA derives from a pre-Incan dialect and means mountain and water. With Spanish, Chinese, and Japanese influences, Peruvian cuisine is extremely diverse. These influences blended with local ingredients result in an array of elegant and exciting dishes.
- UMA’s popular ‘Journey through Peru’ set menu features four courses that are designed to truly take you on a journey of flavours from the ocean, city streets and mountain sides of Peru, from Tiradito de Barramundi to Bocheta de Pulao with local Fremantle Octopus.
- The space is fun and vibrant including a striking, street-art style neon- coloured mural by West Australian Street artist Straker. And an eye-catching Amazonian jungle inspired mural featuring a local Quenda (Southern brown bandicoot).
- UMA is open for dinner, Monday to Saturdays from 5:30pm, Bookings are essential and are available for both private and semi-private events from corporate to special occasions.
