Natalia explores Mondo’s rich legacy of premium meat products, from their humble beginnings to becoming a Perth culinary icon, with a taste of their award-winning fare at the Perth Royal Show.

• Established in 1979, Mondo Butchers in Inglewood is a leading WA butcher known for its premium meats, ready-made meals, sauces, and condiments. Their Porchetta, made from locally sourced pork from their South-West farm, exemplifies their commitment to quality.
• Mondo’s Italian Porchetta won the Champion Cooked Product award at the 2023 Perth Royal Smallgoods Awards. They also earned Gold Medals for Mondo Italian Porchetta, Mondo Coppa Mild, Mondo Ventricina, and Mondo Finnochiona, as well as Silver Medals for various products and Bronze Medals in multiple categories.
• These awards recognise the best produce from Western Australia, setting high-quality standards for smallgoods. The 2023 judging panel, led by Chief Judge Winfried Schnur, assessed 161 entries based on criteria like flavour, colour, workmanship, and presentation.
• The Perth Royal Food Awards winners, including Mondo Butchers, are featured at the Perth Royal Show until 28 September. Visitors to the Farm 2 Food Pavilion at AgVenture Hill can enjoy daily cooking demonstrations and taste testings featuring Mondo’s award-winning Porchetta. Recipes will be available via QR Code for attendees to recreate the dishes at home.
